MPI reports $10 million surplus in 1999/2000 nine months
Manitoba Public Insurance shows a net operating surplus of 10 million on nine months from March to November 30 due to higher premiums written and investment income. The surplus follows a 52.4 million transfer to the Basic Insurance Rate Stabilization Reserve, aiding rate stability for Manitoba motorists as a new insurance year begins March 1.
