Lions Journey for Light riders stop at Roblin Auction Mart

Riders and support crews on the Lions Journey for Light paused at the Roblin Auction Mart on Friday for lunch and hospitality from the Lions Club. The event runs from Swan River to Brandon with stops en route and a $300 participation fee supports the Lions Eye Bank.

Bad Drivers Face Higher Fees in 2001

The Public Utilities Board approved MPI proposed increases to start March 1 2001. Drivers with six or more demerit points pay an extra 50 dollars while higher point totals incur surcharges. Accidents bring staged claims: 200 first non owner, 400 second, 800 third, and 1200 for each later accident within 36 months. First affected group are February birth date renewals with March 1 2001 licenses.
