Larry Mazur becomes first Roblin resident and first local Lion to ride the full 500 kilometre Journey for Sight. The Roblin & District Lions Club hosts the event with Mazur joining Jan. 22 as others meet riders at Childs Lake en route.
The Lake of the Prairies Conservation District will run water testing days across the Shell River watershed. Landowners with private wells pay about ten dollars after subsidies from LPCC covering 72 percent of costs and shipping. A recent nearby program found 40 percent of private wells failed drinking water standards.
