Manville Crown lands could double forage output with better grazing
Manitoba Agriculture officials say 1.7 million acres of Crown land under long term forage leases serve 2600 producers and meet about 20 percent of the province's beef cow herd. By adopting basic rangeland practices such as rotational grazing, extended seasons, and sod seeding, output could double while protecting soil and water and benefiting wildlife.
