A wartime drill staged a mock raid on Roblin at 6.45 am with the storm troops occupying the Hughes garage. Fire, blackout, and rescue actions followed as residents cooperated, while later notes praise civic response and warn imagination should not distort the event.
The Yorkton Bonspiel champions, the ladies rink led by Mrs. G. Grant Mrs. A. Edwards Mrs. L. Larson and Miss Jean Rusk, captured the Holmes Trophy and the Sands Trophy. They also won the longest distance prize given to a rink from Elfrost after nine games. Their only loss occurred in the Hudson Bay event.
In Knox United church the Veterans Home Guard Cadets and M V R members joined Victory Loan Sunday services. Rev Conly spoke on Beacon Fires of Freedom and the Eight Point program for world peace after the war. Dominion Bureau of Statistics shows the cost of living index fell from 116.3 to 115.0 from November 1 to December 1 with wartime increases of 14.9 percent.
