Funeral services were held at Tummel United Church for Gibson Ritchie who died February 11 1960 in Roblin Hospital born 1881 in Belfast Ireland he lived in Toronto and Clearwater before Roblin 1903 married Christina Kelso in 1915 survived by wife three daughters sister and two brothers and received 1957 Agricultural Award. Roblin W I February Meeting At Mrs Sanders Home
Roblin Women's Institute held its February meeting at the home of Mrs. Ted Sanders on Thursday afternoon February 18. Regular business, committee reports, and planning for the Lady Curlers Banquet on March 1 were discussed. A Dauphin Drama League invitation to Roblin groups for a May festival was noted. The meeting highlighted W I C month with reports on national projects and a one minute talk at each meeting on provincial and Dominion ministers. Mrs. A Bangster presented a detailed report on Hon. John Thompson. Mrs. H Gamey demonstrated baking powder biscuits with a lunch, followed by a Valentine contest and a photo guessing game.

The Roblin United Church Ladies' Aid met at Mrs J Goodbun's home in February. After prayers and scripture, Mrs Lawr ence led the lesson The Spirit of Man. Mrs Waddell presented a Missionary and Maintenance program with wall posters. Members approved a proposed Health Unit and planned a spring membership canvass. A gift library plan for Miss Hattie Glover and new year programs were announced. The meeting ended with a religious lunch.

Bonspiel began February 22 at 1 a.m. with 42 rinks entered. Twenty four local teams and eighteen from Calder, Kamsack, Russell and others compete in six events Newton Mitchell Citizens Club Coop Merchants. Prizes include grand aggregate, hard luck, longest distance and biggest end. buffet supper hosted February 24. finals expected Friday evening.

At Grand view on Monday February 22 the Intermountain School Board decided to re consider the Roblin site for the new collegiate after a letter from the Roblin and District Chamber of Commerce urged careful review. The council asked weighing the John Peats property and village west parcel near G L Collegiate, about 345 by 1250 feet. A February 20 meeting in Roblin at 1 30 p m will address these sites and salary negotiations with division teachers.
