Church News Highlights Rev Harvey and Sunday Plans

Church notices list Rev Hubert Harvey M and topics for Sunday including Tummel Cromarty Voices From Ettrick and Children's Address. Roblin Band leads Sunday evening music. Sunday School at Tummel noon Cromarty 2 pm Roblin 2 pm. Valentine Social at Roblin Church Club drew a good crowd with games and refreshments. Ladies Aid Change Social. Hard Times Social and Bean Feast at Cromarty featured a playlet and readings. Union Sunday School Adults held a sleigh ride social with Mr and Mrs Sorbo hosting plus small program and refreshments ending an enjoyable evening.

Mr A Sinclair of Togo visited Makaroff on Saturday. Miss Helen Jolie visits at Mr and Mrs Alan Grundy. Two car loads of hogs shipped last Saturday. Mr W G Kerswell and Mr G D Sloan to Winnipeg Saturday night. Nurse Begas spent several days visiting schools. The debate and concert scheduled for Tuesday last postponed to Tuesday Feb 26 at 6 40 p.m. in the church. Luis Walker contracted measles in Winnipeg for the Inter Provincial contest. Gracious attendance at Cinderella dance in Togo thanks to Mr Alan Grandy and Mr H Judy. Mr J McNeill and Rev Robert Harvey attended the joint church board meeting. Delegates from Deepdale, Silverwood and this point discussed future charge of the field. hope Mr J McNeill remains. Women’s Institute met Feb 12 at Mrs G Harvey’s. president Mrs W G Kersweil chaired. One needy case reported to Social Service and aided. Institute members will help Ladies Aid serve a banquet to Fathers and Sons over twelve. Makaroff Demonstration Team Excels at Interprovincial Event

The Makaroff team of Leslie Spear Louis Walker and leader DB Peterson represented Manitoba at the Interprovincial Competition in Winnipeg. They switched from poultry to Bacon Hog with four to five weeks to prepare and impressed judges including Prof TA Erickson. They earned ivory brushes, spoke fluently to crowds of about three hundred, and left a strong impression despite technical focus.
