Rink Committee Plans February and March Events
The rink committee outlines a schedule for February and March at the new arena with regular skate sessions on Mondays Thursdays and Sundays and free general skating until March end. Final payments announced for barley and oats year
The Canadian Wheat Board disclosed final payments for 1969-70 barley and oats deliveries. Oats pay 9.7 cents per bushel and barley 2.6 cents per bushel, with cheques mailed to 22 129 oat producers and 127 523 barley producers. Mustangs edge Roblin in rough Kamsack hockey clash
In a Saturday game at Kamsack the Mustangs beat Roblin 7-2 amid rough play with one referee. Terry Kostick scored twice with others adding singles as Roblin pressed early but failed to be shaken. The Birtle game Sunday at Roblin Arena saw Roblin rally from 4-2 down with four quick goals to win 6-4. Merv Doering and Ken Holovach starred on defense while Cliff Pomedy added two. Roblin outshot Birtle 31-14. The Mustangs face Swen River in MAH playoffs with a February 21 deadline.
