Togo Curling Club hosts seventh annual novelty bonspiel

The 7th annual bonspiel of the Togo Curling Club, held in February, featured mixed rinks and nine prizes. Winners included Burésws Lumber and Standard Lumber competitions with multiple top finishers. a 500 Drive and dance supported curling funds. Noticias note local attendees and upcoming U F C meeting.

Rotations Trial At Roblin Experimental Station

Demonstration plots to start this spring on Robert Arnott’s farm one mile south of Roblin. Four acre station fields plus two to three two acre plots will test three and five year rotations with crops like wheat barley sweet clover and alfalfa under Brandon Experimental Farm guidance.

Elk Lodge Thanks Contributors For Christmas Cheer Fund

The Roblin Elks Lodge thanks the public for its support in the first Elk Christmas drive. Over 8800 was raised to aid about three hundred children with warm clothes fruit nuts candy books and toys. Mrs Mary McDonald Dies at Tummel at 85

Mrs Mary McDonald nee Morrison died at her Tummel home on a Wednesday aged 85. Born in Harris Inverness Scotland she came to Canada in 1889 with three sons and two daughters. Funeral Feb 4 at Mrs Adams home with Rev Robert Harvey and W J Inglis. Survived by sons Alex Saltcoats John Tummel and daughter Mrs N B Adams Tummel.
