Last University Extension lecture by Prof Osborne
The final talk in the university extension series was delivered Friday evening in the School Assembly Hall by Prof Osborne of Manitoba University. About 250 attendees heard the engaging lecture on Some Elements of Hope in the Present World Situation. The audience praised his masterly arrangement and wide knowledge, and many expressed appreciation for the evening. Hope is for Roblin to host another season of lectures with thanks to those who prepared programs.

News of Walter Day’s War Death Across Nine Years
In 1914 Roblin district volunteers sailed for overseas service. Walter Day was reported missing and killed on April 23 1915 near Langemarck during the German gas attack. After nine years his parents in England received his pay book and will from a German soldier who found a dying British soldier and passed the items to a German journalist who forwarded them to the Day family.
