Unveiling of Cairn Rewards British Columbian Pioneers
A cairn on the Heights was unveiled with a ceremony honoring pioneer geographers and explorers. Captain Robert E. Barkley, great grandson of the explorer, revealed the bronze tablet as notables from British Columbia, Victoria history, and the Hudson's Bay era attended. The event credited the Victoria Branch of the British Columbia Historical Association for assembling the historical details.
