Manitoba chloride fertilizer tests inconclusive
Researchers at the University of Manitoba report no conclusive evidence that chloride fertilizer increases crop yields. Dr. Don Flaten notes Manitoba soil samples show low chloride in areas but yields remain uncertain, with U.S. results showing small gains of two to five bushels per acre. The Manitoba study began in 1988 with 800 soil samples across the province.
