Age verification boosts cattle value for Manitoba producers
Age verification can raise cull cow and bull prices by about five to eight cents per pound, with 1,400 pound cows gaining $70 to $112 per head for minimal office work. Calves and cattle aged under 20 months access export markets, improving safety and traceability. Producers need a PIN or Producer Account ID, and CCIA uploads can be handled by MCPA with free service. Upcoming Parkland Ranchers Seminar is January 27, 2009 at Ste. Rose Community Hall with Tim Clarke of Manitoba Agriculture.
