Manitoba's second quarter 2008 09 financial report shows the province staying on track with a projected year end summary surplus of 350 million and a 52 million net result on core government operations. It notes a 110 million debt retirement payment and a new 50 million special warrant for increases in agriculture income stabilization programs and emergency expenditures.
On December 22, 125 years after incorporation, the Rural Municipality of Shell River celebrated with a birthday cake and a party for ratepayers. Pictured were Reeve Albert Nabe, CAO Twyla Ludwig, assistant Jennifer Neuhofer, and Meghan Livingston as the RM plans more events to mark the milestone.
Karen and Chuck Brade became new owners of Parkland Bakery after reading the sale notice in The Review. They learned the dough is made from scratch and plan renovations but will keep the recipes. Chuck learned dough making as Karen continues painting jobs and they emphasize hard work and preserving the bakery’s long tradition.
