Eighteen Choirs Take Part in Christmas Carol Festival
Eighteen choirs performed at the Christmas Carol Festival in the Inter mediate School auditorium on Friday evening. Master of ceremonies Sam Robinson led the event as choirs including Kindergarten Grade I II and VII groups, Sacred Heart Church, Ukrainian and Ukrainian Orthodox churches, Lutheran and United church choirs, St Vlad's, the High School Glee Club and a Community Choir showcased varied Christmas music. The event, sponsored by the Roblin and District Musical Group, drew a large crowd and urged interested singers to join the Community Choir.

Wm Pound Heads Senior Citizens Club Re-elected Officers
The Senior club met December 5 with Wm Pound re-elected as President and Mrs G De La Mare as Vice President. F Curle named Entertainment Convenor, De La Mare Social Convenor, and Alexander re-elected Sec-Treasurer. A Christmas party is planned for December 17 with gifts to exchange and charity plans. Twenty four members attended. new members invited first Thursday and third Wednesday evenings.

Nichols Celebrate Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary at Home
Mr and Mrs Arthur Nichols of Roblin marked their 50th wedding anniversary with an at home gathering at the new house on the home farm in the Cailleavery district on Saturday November 22. They were married November 21, 50 years ago, and now reside in Roblin after retiring in November 1966. They have six children and five grandchildren with relatives from Benson Minnesota Brandon Regina The Pas Elmhurst Bredenbury Russell Dropmore and Roblin joining in. Messages of congratulations came from the Premiers of Saskatchewan and Manitoba and the Prime Minister of Canada.

In Roblin on December 19, shoppers can enter a fifty dollar cash prize. The Santa Claus parade on December 20 is expected to feature over twenty floats. The event culminates December 24 at 3 p.m. with a 1000 pound steer draw at Main St and Second Ave. The mayor and town council will conduct the drawing.

Amblyopia Screening Reaches Area Children
Evangeline Rebekah Lodge conducted November amblyopia screenings for grade 1 and 2 pupils and kindergarten groups at the primary school. In all 280 youngsters attended, 11 referred to an eye specialist, and 9 could not distinguish signs at distance. Independent Order of Odd Fellows sponsored the program, aiding 4 to 7 year olds from Dauphin to the Saskatchewan border.
