Missionary society educational meeting reports

The Bachelors of Bield plan their second annual New Year’s Eve dance, noting many have married and suggesting the club may disband after the New Year, shifting to a young married men’s dance.

Weekend Visits and Christmas Arrangements Reported

Miss Bety Edwards and Miss Margaret Smale spent weekends at others homes. Mrs Fred Thompson led Christmas Gift planning with Miss Violet Nott and the W.I. exchange gifts. A surprise party honored Mrs Grassie at Mr and Mrs Wm Edwards home as she heads south with daughter Edna. gloves were gifted.

Local Social Notes From Grand Narrows and Makaroff

Miss V Wilson visited Mrs Sloan in Makaroff over the weekend. Mrs Lester has been slightly unwell but is hoped to recover soon. The Junior U F M gathered at Miss N Wallie's home and enjoyed a supper the hostess served. The Young Peoples club could not complete last Saturday’s program but spent the evening in games and contests.

Local Hockey Girls Dance Dec 26 and more events

The notice lists a hockey girls dance on December 26 and a Tummel Community hall dance on December 25 with admission 25 cents. It recalls a Roblin W. I sponsored Empty Stocking fund dance the prior Friday that raised $65 with three orchestras Smales Donoghue’s and McNeill and a 3 am finish. A doll draw named M Lundy won.

A Roblin district author announces an upcoming small book of original poems and songs, drawn from Songs and Poems of the West. Makaroff Players Present Oh Susan Comedy Drama

The Makaroff Players staged Oh Susan a Katherine Kav anaugh comedy drama in Makaroff halls on Friday. Rev S R McLeod directed with a strong cast including I Stewart M Jack Margaret May Deimosey and Mrs Fowe along with FW Juby L B oGnnis WiCobbe and A Hoge. Suitably staged lighting enhanced the evening’s enjoyment.
