Thanksgiving through time from Pilgrims to modern customs
The essay traces the origin of Thanksgiving from 1620 Plymouth Rock to Lincoln's 1863 proclamation and Roosevelt's 1939 date shift. It notes Canadian adjustments, parade-driven commerce, and family faith as core themes, ending with a call to gratitude and shared values.
