Eleven Dauphin jobs will vanish as MTS blends Dauphin Thompson and Brandon Winnipeg centres in early January. Dauphin will keep twenty employees while the rest shift to other sites as operations merge and reorganize across the province.
The Town Council approved a 9750 advance to the district recreation commission to cover a significant shortfall in its 2003 budget amid recent arena and equipment repairs. Public works staff attended a cross-connection seminar in Winnipeg and a Manitoba water seminar was authorized for 2004. Council renewed Parkland Tourism membership for 520 and Crocus Trail updates were given. A 1978 Saskatoon boiler was approved for sale to Rivers for 2500 with pickup in November and full payment in January.
Manitoba residents are invited to the Legislative Building on Saturday December 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. Premier Gary Doer Lt Governor Peter M Liba and MLAs will host the annual event with family entertainment school choirs a children's activity centre and Santa emailing from the Rotunda.
