Premier Roblin delivered a lengthy speech, outlining a tax focused budget while proposing a province wide school tax rebate for more than sixty percent of homeowners. new levies were planned to fund the rebate and raise about 20 million in revenue. Opposition voices challenged the plan, with Liberal Molgat criticizing the tax mix and NDP leader Paulley arguing the measures resemble a sales tax on essentials.
