Heat trims 1989 crop forecast from near record to 44 million
Farm Decision Resources cut its 1989 Winnipeg crop projection to 44 million tonnes after a July heat wave reduced pollen and seed set. The firm notes yields are still above the seven year average but below potential, with prairie oats, wheat, barley and canola among the revised outputs.
