Canadian charity trek rider pedals 7500 kilometres for SOS

Silverland leaves Whitehorse on a 2 1/2 year journey to Roblin riding a recumbent trike Ranger to raise funds for SOS Children's Villages. She travels through Saskatchewan expecting Roblin by Aug 19 and hopes donors will support East Africa matched by government.

Supper in the Field Feast At Riding Mountain Park

Parkland Tourism hosts Supper in the Field at Riding Mountain National Park on August 20 with Parkland foods served in a white tent near the Wishing Well. The event includes Harvest Sun Festival music, a Martese cruise option from Wasagaming, and a dinner featuring regional chefs and producers with desserts and beverages. Tickets are 59 dollars. Martese return trip 25 dollars, appetizers 4:30 pm, dinner 5:00 pm.
