Severe hail damages farms and homes near Roblin
Thunderstorms south of Roblin on August 2 dumped softball sized hail across the Tummel area. Residents report broken windows and damaged roofs and vehicles, with some cars totaled. A large section of farmland near the old Tummel School yard suffered heavy damage, with crop adjuster David Baranowski noting some areas at 100 percent damage and others from 100 down to under five per cent in surrounding fields. Hail crossed the highway east of 83 but tapered off and did not reach the Shell River valley. Pyott’s cottage properties also sustained damage.
