River Fair Exhibits Impress Judges and Public

Directors of the Agricultural Society praised the River fair’s strong exhibits and high attendance. Judges lauded stock quality. health talks by Dr Cowan examined 55 children, finding 18 defect free and 19 remediable with care, with six needing special medical care. Premier Bracken and W R Clubb attended. Thomas Wishart judged heavy horses and other classes with numerous firsts and ribbons noted for Clydesdales, Shorthorns, Herefords, and Dairy Cattle among many divisions.

Harvest Scenes and Local Visits In Roblin

Roblin residents host visitors from Winnipeg and surrounding towns as harvesting begins district wide. Numerous relatives and friends travel to town for events while memorial services and War Veterans parades mark August activities.

An August 10 ice cream social raised funds for the boys and girls club with Togo orchestra providing entertainment.

Salvation Army Meetings Schedule Publishes August Dates

The Salvation Army announces meetings on Sunday August 19 with an 11 am holiness service, a 2 30 pm meeting at Merridale School, and a 7 80 pm Salvation meeting. The Army chariot will visit Roblin on Friday August 17 and Togo on Saturday August 18 for additional meetings.
