Young fiddler Scott Woods Shares Summer Rounds

Scott Woods, a young fiddler from Roblin, Saskatchewan, played a busy summer of old time tunes, Ukrainian songs, Christmas carols, and hymns. His first public performance was March 11 2006 at a United Church Youth Group function, leading to many gigs and a first CD recorded with Stan Ostafie.

Erin Fleury Leads New Band With Noted Manitoba Talent

Erin Fleury fronts the Erin Fleury Band as lead singer. Other members include Jason Junk on drums Trevor Smith on bass Earl Gillespie on guitar and Miranda Young on piano. Fleury, a Dauphin Countryfest and Painted Hand Casino Idol winner, recently appeared with the 620 CKRM band at Casino Regina Moose Jaw Hometown Fair and Craven Big Valley Jamboree as a 620 CKRM Big Country Talent Show finalist. The group’s next local appearance is August 10 and 11.
