Trucker survives Merridale Hill crash near Shell River
A loaded logging truck lost control on Merridale Hill near the Shell River on July 23. The vehicle tipped, logs scattered, a hydro pole broke, and the driver was rescued and hospitalized. Rescue crews and Manitoba Hydro restored power as the road reopened by 8 p.m. The driver called himself lucky to be alive.
