Roblin Summer Fair highlights quiet district exhibits
The Roblin districtheld the Shell River Agricultural Society show on Friday with steady but below-average entries. Exhibits ranged from livestock classes to baking and crafts while sports saw Tamarisk win the senior baseball and Roblin claim softball and horse race wins. Local residents Milne Law Winnipeg visitors and numerous town families were noted among the attendees and activities including church services and community events.

ORDMARTY reports the birth of a son to Mr and Mrs J Reid on July 30. Mrs J Chapman and four daughters from Brandon are visiting relatives here. Mr Nott suffered an industrial finger injury last week. A dance at Brandon’s barn drew a good crowd. Mr Brandon is improving after a head and back injury from a car crash. Janet Grey left for Minnedosa after a month with Mrs Whitlam. Several locals visited Clear Lake. The W I held an August meeting at Mrs John Nott’s with strong attendance and a pleasant afternoon with Tummel W.T. as guests. The September meeting will be at Mrs Wm Thompson’s.

Togo’s Path Annual Sericultural Exhibition Draws Strong Attendance
Capt Donald Sinclair returned from Saskatoon on Wednesday while guests visited from Wynard Winnipeg Coronation Rush Lake and Parding. The Togo’s Path exhibition on Thursday July 28 featured robust entry numbers and quality in stock and produce with Runekonene and Roblin splitting first and second prizes as darkness halted the final game.

Field Day At Arnott Bros Farm Draws Large Attendance
The Dominion Government Illustration Station field day on July 20 at Arnott Bros. farm attracted the largest crowd of farmers and families ever seen. D Brown of the Federal Department of Agriculture and Supt. Mr. Tinline guided tours of grain plots weed control and crop rotations. They toured Miss Arnott’s garden answered questions on hardy shrubs vegetables and a horse judging unrest led by Mr. Tintine. A short lecture on proper methods preceded a casual card writing activity and a softball game for younger attendees. The event showed strong interest from those involved in agricultural work.
