Homecoming Week Brings Growth for Roblin Recreation
During Homecoming 2000 Roblin’s recreation facilities welcomed visitors from Canada and the U.S.A. Thanks flowed to facility manager Merv Doering for extras at a July 15 16 family reunion. Donations from Kinsmen/Kinettes and Class of 88 boosted the change rooms project, with $200 from a July 21 golf gathering and $100 from the Class of 88. The 50 50 draw netted $800 prize plus $17.82 interest, aiding the project. The Rec Commission Dance drew 650 attendees and showcased fundraising momentum. The Manitoba Community Places grant awards $14 952 toward a $40 000 loan, enabling shade area plans and fall work. Donations recorded through July 27 total $114 382.97 against a $140 000 goal, leaving $25 617.03.
