Council briefs clarify AGM remarks and chamber ties
At the March 23 meeting Council heard Chamber president Colin Knight clarify remarks from the AGM about local governments and the chamber's status. Sharla Boychuk introduced as District Manager of the Lake of the Prairies Conservation District presented plans and a watershed plan draft. Council approved sign and welcome sign funding applications and authorized reserve fund augmentations including a 0.5 mill levy for Recreation Facilities and Fire Truck Replacement reserves.

Fire chief thanks community after busy windy weekend
Roblin Shell River Fire & Rescue handled six calls in 24 hours from April 8 to 9. Chief Tom Bowley thanked firefighters and local businesses for cooperation during five fire calls and one accident caused by strong winds, including brush fires and downed hydro lines. The crew had just returned from one call when another arrived around two in the morning.
