Russell RCMP stopped a vehicle on March 22 and found about five pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of 12000 dollars. Twenty year old Travis Velechenko was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act officers executed a search warrant at Wella's Jewelry and Gift. Police seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Owner Peter Velechenko, 52, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. Two men to appear in court May 26.
