Death Notice and Local Health News in Deepdale

The community extends sympathy to Mr and Mrs F Zankowsky and family on the death of their young son Edmund at Roblin Hospital on Thursday April 1. Mrs Sherson remains seriously ill but hopes for a quick recovery. Miss Mabel Ayer of Davonport Sask visited her parents and plans to travel to Dauphin to visit friends.

Martha E Armistead obituary in Silverwood district

Mrs Martha E Armistead of Silverwood died at home on March 29. Born in England in 1877, she married Albert Armistead there and, in 1902, they immigrated to Canada to pioneer and settle in Silverwood, where they worked to improve the community.

Hillsburg Road Restrictions Imposed by Council

Rural Municipality of Hillsburg announces road restrictions with a 6000 gross weight limit on any vehicle. The rules take effect immediately on municipal highways once official signs are posted by order of council. Charlies Fiiewich serves as Secretary-Treasurer.

Obituary: Mrs Armistead Laid to Rest at Mount View

The community mourns the death of Mrs Armistead. She died after a long farming life, survived by two sons Wilks and Ernest, two daughters Ruth and Winnifred, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is mourned by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral held April 4 at Silver Wood Church with Rev Ames officiating. Burial followed at Mount View Cemetery. Pallbearers included MecGregor Davies Armistead Radford and Sneath Funeral Service led arrangements. The church was crowded with relatives and friends.

R W Johnson of 8812 Laurel Street Vancouver died at Shaughnessy Military Hospital March 14 1956. Funeral at St Luke's Anglican Church Vancouver with Rev G B Archer officiating. Survivors include wife Winifred three sons Albert Robert Ernest two daughters Katherine Flora eight grandchildren four brothers and two sisters. Born Treherne Manitoba 1898 he served in the 78th Infantry Battalion wounded in France 1917 and later farmed Roblin Silverwood Dauphin and Winnipeg before moving to Vancouver in 1955. He rests at Forest Lawn Cemetery Field of Honor Vancouver.
