The Manitoba legislature plans to reconvene on April 25 to resume the first session of the new government. Premier Gary Doer notes a forthcoming budget soon after reconvening, with past recess on December 14. The 57-seat assembly currently has 32 NDP, 24 PCs, and one Liberal.
Manitoba highway signs will gain brighter black red and yellow panels to improve driver awareness of stop requirements for school buses with flashing signals. The $100000 program replaces 120 provincial signs this year with higher visibility, while municipalities may add more on their roads.
