About 50 parents and teachers met at the school Monday night to organize and plan future meetings. Elected officers include Rev. D. Conky as president and R. McBride as vice president with several other officers and an executive committee. The program featured the constitution, a folk duree, and a discussion on curfew with a motion to urge council to ring the bell bylaw and enforce it with parental and pupil cooperation. A denial chic was deferred to April.
Roblin and district over subscribed their Red Cross quota by 753.82 with a few days left for outlying districts to report. By noon Wednesday subscriptions totaled SP452.89, with last week’s report at $20238.67 and this week’s at 490.15. Preluded in subscriptions were Tummel School staff and pupils 27.00, Intermediate room Red Cross, Hay 401 Pochedale School in Red Cross.
Merridale residents report road conditions deteriorating after winter. Mrs C Cockerill and Mrs F Prior visited Mrs Carie. John Prior returns from Spud Sanders saw mill. A choir forms at Sander School for Easter. Teachers Miss W Flatt and Miss Mr McLeod are noted. N Ratushny visit Roblin in Nick's winter van. Mrs R Povser leaves for Winnigrg then Ontario for war work.
Mr and Mrs Eisner returned from Winnipeg on Monday. Mrs J W Eddy has returned from Saskatoon. Mrs Maud Hern returned from Winnipeg Saturday. A number from town attended the dance at Mylor school Friday night. Mrs J W McGrath and children visiting Mr and Mrs Davis. Eva Craven has joined the army stationed at Regina. Wm Davis left for Carrot River Wednesday. Jay Dimit looked after the billiard parlor in his absence. Pilot Keith I ear left for the coast after visiting his parents. Mr and Mrs Wm Austin entertained Mr and Mrs James Sharp for the 43rd wedding anniversary.
Mr. H. Lawson is a visitor in Winnipeg. Mrs. Jack McLennan is visiting with Mrs. Lorimer. Mrs. C. S. Russell of Russell is visiting with Mrs. De La Mare. Mr. Herb Lorimer is a visitor in Winnipeg.
Makaroff F. E. Lee visited with his brother at Gilbert Plains last week. A wool filled quilt is on display in Brown's Hardware. Spr Evert Boyce and Pte Charles Elder spent days at their homes in the district. Red Cross raffled three tables with winners Fred Nabe Charles Burns and Marion Pfiefer.
Pte Bill Johnson spent the weekend with his wife and family. Pte Howard Radford took four days leave with his wife. Cecil Maguire returned home after winter at Nostrom's mill. A dance is planned for Silverwood Hall on April 30 with lunch served. Patriotic Society met March 24 deciding summer hall meetings, next on April 27. Seven dollars of cigarettes sent overseas and tea sales raised three dollars twenty.
Miss E Hilderman left for Winnipeg Monday. Mrs E Lomax returned from MacDonald. Mrs D Towes of Togo visits Mrs R Herbert. Mr Phillips took son Wilfred to Winnipeg for medical treatment. Mrs W Taylor of Dauphin visits her parents. Mr and Mrs A Mathews left for Saskatoon for CN R boarding car duty. A party at Mrs R Reids was a success despite a skunk encounter. Mr and Mrs Geo Ward thank friends for golden wedding gifts.
Mrs. Albert Jarvis visits relatives in the district as Miss Harriet Poucher of the W C A C spends time at home. L A Chase returns from Toronto healthier after three months medical treatment. The March 28 ratepayers meeting in Bield was well attended with Inspector Day noting a lagging financial setup. A flat rate school levy and canceling 5 percent cash for school vans were proposed. Red Cross served lunch.
Bettie Kelso Cromarty of Roblin visited Ruth McDuffe over the weekend. Joyce Laird returns to school after six weeks absent due to illness. Mrs W Gardner at Timber school spent the weekend at home. Charlie McDuffe of the Royal Canadian Navy left Saturday to resume duties on the east coast. Stewart Fraser was a business visitor for several days last week. Mrs W Edwards returned home Saturday from Winnipeg after a three week visit. Shirley Davis had scarlet fever last week. correction notes illness was brief.
Mrs. Fisher sent her parcel to her husband Pte A Bud Fisher in England wrapped in flour bag material. A letter from Bud says a regimental flare torn in a windstorm was repaired by an officer using that same material from Gilbert Manitoba. The flag now waves again aloft, symbolic of years of service in sun and breeze.

Trimble of Winnipeg was a weekend business visitor. Married Peoples Dance set for April 9 from 8 30 to 12. adm 35c. Proceeds from March 12 dance totaled 19.05 donated to the Red Cross. Mrs. Milton Walker and daughter Judy of Winnipeg visit the Greenaways. Pte. Donald Williamson of the Vets Guard and Mrs. William visited J. Hallam’s family. Public meeting on St John’s Ambulance course April 6 in United Church basement at 7 p.m. Miss Jean FE Fletcher joined the C W A C basic training at Winchester Ont. Jean is the fourth Fletcher child to join the army. Rev Cowan reports his nephew Eric Cowan, son of Captain Alex Cowan, promoted to Major at age 22, likely the youngest major in Canada. he was made a Captain at 20.
