President Harding urged Congress to approve the British debt settlement of 4.6 billion dollars and pressed action on the ship subsidy bill. The Indiana Lincoln Memorial Association plans intensified Lincoln birthday observances in Indiana to honor the states role in shaping Lincoln. It advocates a statewide memorial funded by small contributions and seeks school participation to highlight Hoosier life of the martyred president.
John J Arick age 76 died Saturday at 4 00 PM at his home three and one half miles southeast of Roanoke Indiana in Jackson township. He was born March 10 1846 in Jackson township and was a lifelong resident. Surviving are his widow two daughters Mrs Izora Logan Fort Wayne and Mrs Leola Ervin Huntington five sons Charles Jacob John W Silas all Fort Wayne and Ernest Kenosha Wis four sisters Mrs Margaret Settlemyre Roanoke Mrs Samantha Caley Mt Etna Mrs Mary Meadow Ossian and Mrs Marinda Settlemyre Roanoke He was a member of the local Odd Fellows lodge Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 30 PM at the M E church with Rev C Emery Smith in charge Interment followed in the I O O F cemetery with the Odd Fellows lodge at the grave
The Ladies of the Rebekah Lodge announce an Easter market and bazaar this Saturday featuring crafts and goods for sale. Proceeds support lodge charitable activities and community outreach.
