Service Station Hold Up Ends With $55 Theft
Three men robbed a Pepper's Service Station around midnight after locking the attendant in the rest room. They rifled the cash register taking $55.75, including two taxi cab money pouches, then fled toward Biaporo. Police arrested them about an hour later near Biaporo.

S. H. Crumpler was elected district chairman at the Halifax District Boy Scouts meeting held last Wednesday in the Rosemary Cafe blue room. John Dunn was named first vice chairman and Rev. Edmund Berkley second vice chairman, with C. D. Liske as district commissioner and A. E. Akers as treasurer. Crumpler is noted for his long service including advancement chairman work and earning the Silver Beaver award. John Dunn also serves on the troop committee.

Thompson Receives Navy Discharge in Charleston
Woodrow Wilson Thompson, 26, was discharged from the navy in Charleston South Carolina on Saturday November 17. He home is 740 Jefferson street and held the rating of seaman second class at release. He entered the navy in December 1943 and served on Okinawa.
