Roanoke Rapids Hospital Closes Doors On Finances
The Roanoke Rapids Hospital shuttered to new patients after the Board of Governors determined funds were insufficient for current expenses. In September and October the facility lost about $2,000, aided by Roanoke Mills Co. withholding 25 cents weekly from employees. The Executive Committee now oversees operations with authority to decide on a possible reopening.

Precincts No 1 and No 2 combined cast 2588 votes in the National election of 1932 with 1492 in North Ward and 1076 in South Ward. Roosevelt led Hoover by 2225 votes citywide.
