Roanoke Rapids Merchants Set Prize Night Events
The Roanoke Rapids Merchants Association announces prizes Thursday night November 14 at 6 p.m. on the High School steps, closing the Trade Days with a fiddle and singing contest. Entries must register with Miss Lillian Belle Jenkins by 5 p.m. next Thursday and bring tickets for prize drawings and back accounts. The event will be broadcast over loudspeakers with a final awards ceremony.

New York Girl and Pilot Die in Roanoke Rapids Crash
Ann Mullen of New York City died at Roanoke Rapids Hospital at 3 30 this afternoon from injuries in a crash near Broadnax Virginia. Pilot Lafayette W Rothsteen Jr of Port Washington North Carolina was killed instantly. Sister Vivian Mullen was critically injured and not expected to live, transported to Petersburg during the afternoon.
