Vinson Proposes Reserve to Pay Halifax County Bonds

The Halifax County Auditor and ABC Board disbursing agent, C. S. Vinson, recommends leaving nine months of ABC profits in the county’s special accounts to grow into a reserve. With about 42 thousand dollars in profits, his plan aims to pay bonds due in 1940 and cut future tax rates, rather than fund the general treasury. The County Board approved this approach, backing Vinson’s plan to use cash and liquor proceeds to retire debt.
