Baseball's popular popularity contest draws entrants and steady work toward the forty dollars in gold. Several players have already landed clubs and earned a $2.50 premium, with others urged to start soon. A league team now has a candidate nearing a top prize, and we expect another player from that squad to join the effort in the coming days.
The Roanoke Rapids board voted a 15000 bond issue to fund defraying existing obligations and financing street work bridges and sidewalks.
