Mileage Hints By J F Winche Supervisor of Motorists
J F Winche explains that cars using excessive gas or oil, lacking power, and showing piston slap likely have worn cylinders. After removing the head, worn cylinders become evident, requiring refinishing to restore roundness and straightness, then oversized pistons and rings. Refinishing is affordable and worthwhile when done correctly.
