Roanoke residents heard a bright Hav a Laf comedy company at the Peoples Theatre. The show promises riotous fun with girls and music plus brass band and concert orchestra, one night only with popular prices and high costuming. Local advance praise notes it as the season’s best.
Rev Lewis N Taylor of Stovall North Carolina arrives to take charge at All Saints Mission. He will serve All Saints Chapel next Sunday and conduct services at St Luke's Chapel Northampton every third Sunday. His reputation as a gifted eloquent minister augurs well for the local religious life.
The Roanoke Rapids Power Company sold all unsold Jackson Street lots to Roanoke Rapids Real Estate Company. Two hundred lots were deeded to Roanoke Mills Company for the mill site and tenements for Roanoke Mills No 2. Groundbreaking for the main mill building is likely in April, with the new parcels offered for prompt sale to investors amid rapid industrial expansion.
Miss Edna Hargrave and Daniel Morris were married last Thursday evening at the bride’s mother Mrs J H Hargrave home in Roanoke Rapids. Rev C H Trueblood of the Baptist Church officiated. The couple will reside in Roanoke Rapids after April 1 following a short visit to Mr Morris’ parents in Bethel North Carolina.

Rosemary Concert Band spent Thursday in Henderson with music for the soldiers homecoming.

J Harris widow gets Roanoke Mills group insurance benefit after his death. Massingale Spivey Massingale and James H Spivey wed last Sunday at the bride’s father John Massingale home in Roanoke Rapids. The ceremony was performed by Rev C H Trueblood of the Baptist Church in the presence of close friends. They left for a wedding trip and will reside at Mr Spivey’s Virginia home.
