Red Cross Nurse Initiative Planned for Halifax County
Miss Myers of the State Board for Health has visited Halifax County Red Cross Chapters to assess a nurse for the county. A meeting is scheduled in Weldon on Friday March 26 at 11 AM with chapter representatives to form the nursing activities committee and shape details for implementing the Red Cross Nurse program. The budget from county state and international boards does not fund a nurse, so the Red Cross will provide the nurse through county chapters. The goal is to train others to perform nursing tasks, as the effort marks the county’s first step toward organized nursing work.

Night school enrollment rises at old Methodist Church
The night school now enrols about 150 students in the old Methodist Church. Miss Nora Leach from Franklin N C arrived last Saturday to assist. Another worker will likely be added soon. Miss Elizabeth Kelly and Miss Edna Coith visited Tuesday night and praised the progress and unusual enrollment and interest.
