New Textile Industry Course Added in Local Schools
A new textile manufacturing course under the Smith Hughes act begins in Roanoke Rapids and Weldon. W. S. Dean will organize and run the program, open to any resident 14 or older, with classes at Central School on Mon Wed Fri evenings. A new furniture store and undertaker business will open in Roanoke Rapids about early April in the corner store at the Wells D. Tillery site. A Roanoke Chapter committee collected donations for the Masonic and Eastern Star Home at Greensboro and the Oxford Orphanage.
