Protest over Tonsil and Adenoid clinic at Halifax meeting
At Roanoke Rapids Hospital the Halifax County Medical Society debated the annual Tonsil and Adenoid clinic. Dr T H Royster protested, saying many paying patients were admitted and that half of last year’s operations were on patients who could pay, while charity cases could be operated on for free if referred by Welfare officials. The hospital suggested a nominal fee of fifteen dollars for certain operations and discussed charity provisions.
