Commissioners to Hear Complaints on Tax Valuation

Halifax County Voters Set Record in Sixteen-County Election
Halifax County voters turned out 8 487 strong to cast the largest county vote on record last Saturday June 2. Julian Allsbrook won the State Senate race by 665 votes over T W M Long and Leonidas Hux led Quentin Gregory for Clerk of the Superior Court by 1 223. Thorne and Leggett won seats in the House. five city commissioners were elected. Kerr defeated Dickens for Congress and Winborne defeated Macon. Cooper won the sheriff’s coroner race with 12 votes for Cashwell solo entry.
