The Roanoke Rapids Board of Trade held its first regular meeting at the Old Opera House with President J T Chase in charge. Delegation leader J T Stainback reported progress with Atlantic Coast Line President Kenly on a Weldon to Roanoke Rapids spur and sidetracks to local plants. A committee was named to guide visiting Coast Line officials and local mills pledged support as the Board endorsed W L Long for state legislature.
