District B S A camp postponed amid polio epidemic in 1940s
The Halifax District Boy Scout Camp scheduled for July 29 through August 12 in Scotland Neck is postponed indefinitely. District Chairman C D Liske and health authorities cite the polio outbreak and aim to reschedule later in the season. Local leaders express disappointment while noting ongoing efforts to safeguard Scouts and maintain a strong camping record.
