Franklin Withdraws From Tri Town League Baseball
Franklin Birds withdraw from the Tri Town League canceling their remaining schedule. Franklin manager Mr Pillow cites financial difficulties and poor standing as factors. A meeting of Franklin Emporia and Roanoke Rapids is planned to discuss the rest of the season and possible schedule revisions. Big addition to Roanoke Mills reported
The Roanoke Mills Company awarded a contract to J W Smoot hity for a three story brick mill building on the former Desent wood Warehouse site. The new structure will be modern brick with 37000 square feet of floor space, cost about 30000 dollars, and will be used for warehouse purposes. Finishing machinery will be installed in the current finish room when the new building is ready. In Rosemary, Ada Mc Gowin and Me, were married last Tuesday in an automobile ceremony after a country drive. The couple, both well known Rosemary residents, will live there. the groom is an employee of the Rosemary Manufacturing Company.
