Girl Scouts December Activities And Holiday Helpers
In December the four Scout troops organized events despite a short school month. They conducted an Automobile Party prank with no real cars, sold lyceum tickets raising 85 dollars, and Scout patrol Pine Cone won a scout axe. They hosted book week booths, sold hot dogs, and raised 75 dollars. They sang Christmas carols, shared fruitcake and money for the poor, and joined Boy and Girl Scouts on a large Christmas hike with fruits and candies distributed. They helped families on Christmas morning and sent gifts to Convict Camp Nol and other recipients as the year closed.

Only two cases, of a minor nature, were brought before His Honor. Robert Haislip was discharged after paying costs for allowing a vicious dog to run at large. Henry and Mary West, colored, were charged with an affray and each fined five dollars plus costs.

Night Girl Scouts Initiate Ten Members and Plan Box Party
The Night Girl Scouts met January 11, 1922 with ten members present led by Captain Mosely. Four were initiated, then the group formed a basketball team under Captain Coble. A box party for Oak Leaf Troop 811 on Monroe Street is planned for January 21 at 7:30 PM. all are invited. Also notes on the 1921 state income tax law, its filing requirements, and forms sent by the State Department of Revenue with penalties for late filing.

Memorial for Samuel Hale of South Weldon
Mr Samuel Hale died at home in South Weldon on Tuesday due to pneumonia. He leaves a devoted wife and five children. A Rosemary resident for six or seven years before moving to South Weldon a year ago, he was thirty six. Rev E N Harrison conducted the funeral at the home Wednesday afternoon. Burial followed at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
