Stolen Goods Recovered By Law Officers
Roanoke Rapids police and sheriff s officers recovered items alleged stolen from Rochelle Realty Company and Dairy Company buildings. Loot included nails tires lime a wheelbarrow wrenches and other hardware found in a tobacco barn near Aureliane Springs. Joe Lampley and son Jake were arrested and held on receiving stolen goods charges with bonds set at 400 each. Break ins occurred about two weeks ago.

Stamps Stolen From Home Of MacKirdy In Weldon Break‑In
Thieves entered the Weldon home of Lawsecure MacKirdy, Patterson Mill employee, Tuesday night and stole postal savings stamps valued at 000. The MacKirdys, away in Richmond, returned to discover the break‑in and missing stamps. Johnny Jack Wilkins found 3000 in stamps at Second and Sycamore streets and reported them to authorities.

Three Men Given Stiff Sentences for Drunken Driving
In Roanoke Rapids Recorder's Court three white men George B. Miles of Weldon G R Rawlings of Lawrenceville Va and Charley Pulley of Brodnax Va were found guilty of driving while intoxicated. They were fined 50 dollars plus costs and had their licenses revoked for 12 months. W Z Mitchell of Skippers Va faced charges of driving with improper brakes and coasting downhill and was fined 20 dollars after his brakes caused a collision with a Carolina Trailways bus.
