Stolen car recovered after fire call near Rosemary Mill
A Ford coupe stolen from a laundry truck was found burning near Rosemary Mill and Roanoke Avenue. No injuries or damages were reported. A traffic stop led to the vehicle’s recovery by state patrol. police made no arrests. Also noted, a Roanoke Rapids officer resigned and was replaced. Two Arrested After Gaston County Raid On Northampton Liquor Still
Two Wauseon men, Alien Scott and Turner Turner, were bound over to Northampton County Court after Constable John Dixon raided a Gaston Township liquor still Saturday. Officers seized a 100 gallon still with two 60 gallon barrels and mash. Scott was captured at the scene. Turner was arrested later the same day. They await trial in Recorder's Court in Jackson on Wednesday, August 27th.
